Last month I stayed at Gran Melia Resort in Puerto Rico where I enjoyed very much my stay. The hotel accommodations where beautiful, the personnel where very professional and hospitable.
However, the last day of my stay at Gran Melia, when I was departing, I was part of a very uncomfortable situation. I needed transportation to San Juan, and the (Benny) employee of the transportation company, Dragonfly, told me the price for that trip was $90.00. At that moment a Taxi arrived and I asked the taxi driver how much is the price to drive me to San Juan and he told me it was $65.00.
When I decided to take the taxi to San Juan all hell broke loose! The guy from the transportation company told me that I couldn’t take the taxi to San Juan. Then the transportation company employee threatened and yelled at the taxi driver. He told the driver that if he took me to San Juan, he wouldn’t be able to get into the hotel again.
This was a very disturbing incident that bothered us a lot.
I have no complaints about the hotel and the service they provided, but the transportation company was horrible. I suggest renting a car, rather than using the transportation services provided in the hotel.

Dragonfly Adventures DMC/Caribbean Unlimited Don't have enough vehicles!


After their Subcontracting car companies have refused to work for $20.00 bucks a trip to the airport. Dragonfly doesn't have enough vehicles to operate the 2 hotels that they serve, The result? the are using the taxi companies in the airport to do the work, just this past Sunday they had 24 passenger in the airport waiting 45 minutes for transportation, What did they do ? they used 6 taxi at once to move them........Carlos When are YOU going to learn? now you are spending the same money but on airport taxis.But im glad cause that means they are going under sooner rather then later!

Look at this piece of craXXX they spend $17000.00 on it & it cant even go up the ramp that leads to the lobby of the hotel .Another example of bad management ......

$20.00 a Trip to airport


WELL HERE WE GO AGAIN! reporting the latest! ....Dragonfly ADVENTURES DMC/Caribbean unlimited AKA Cheapo adventures started on May 2ed paying there subcontractor car companies $20.00 A trip to the airport when they used to pay $65.00 bucks. At $20.00 bucks that mean they spend $15.00 on gas & the rest is the car company's profit ! So what does this mean? they would have to provide the service basically free, why are the doing this ? well they are in real deep financial mess ,they owe over $175.000. dollars to several car companies ..... Recently they got a line of credit to buy 4 used buses to see if they can say their business ..but with Carlos "THE DUCE" Lenny there nothing is going to save them ........ what a bunch of losers ! pay up Yolanda

New York Life.........Arrived & Departed & Dragonfly Adventures

New York Life.........Arrived & Departed & Dragonfly Adventures lost a ton o money again! They were in charge of the arrival & departure of the group they had about 20 employees in the airport , Hotel making sure Carlos Lenny (I mean) there employees did fu.kup anything .... they even had to hire the former Rio Mar transportation employees to greet the group & make an impression ...... THE PLAN to provide NY Life with tours etc. But at they end NY chose Rico Sun tour for most of there activities ...& Yolanda paying a lot of employees for doing nothing just wasting money .....I MEAN YOU JUST HAVE TO LAUGH... BUNCH OF LOSERS.

Carlos Ramirez THE BEST EMPLOYEE DRAGONFLY HAD!

Unfortunately for Dragonfly & fortunately for us Carlos Ramirez was recently let go by Dragonfly Adventures. Yet another proof that they have no idea how to manage their transportation business.............Hey Carlos get yourself a good lawyer & sue them they have money!

A tourist that went horseback ridding saw the condition of this horse & decided not to patronize there business. He also posted a photo of the horse on the net.

Dragonfly is losing a ton of money on they're transportation adventures i mean business & they are subsidizing it with money taken from there horseback ranch. Consequence they cant even feed they animals.

They are at it again!.... how cheap can you really be? look closely

Don't they learn? The management of both Hotel inform them, they need to have a greeter for each hotel. Maybe there are the same owners? or their Taxis stop at each hotel....it just doesn't look good.

Reading hearing & experiencing all of the stories of this company sometimes i question myself .....oooohhh well they wont be around for long ...Gran Melia & Rio Mar are accepting transportation proposals. I guess its simply is a matter of time until Lenny is out of a job AGAIN! Yolanda going back to managing her Restaurant & last but not least Alejandrito going back to manage his small bumper cars buisness!

I know our comments may be a tad overdue but, as they say, "Better late than never". Don't get us wrong, the resort IS a beautiful place but what goes on behind closed doors damages the view.
Let me start with check-in... more than 20 minutes with no line before us (???) Not even a little white lie for an excuse (just chit chatting and laughter amongst the staff.)
Lack of bell personnel to help with our luggage (add about 10 more minutes to the waiting period).
The concierge mentioned a free gift and all it was, was a 90 minute presentation offer.
At the concierge we asked for recommendations for good local food and were sent to a place called Martins BBQ (very odd for a recommendation.)
This was just the beginning of our stay so we decided to overlook the situations and hope for the best.
Moving on to the our room, on our second night we requested for two additional towels which never arrived; needless to say, we called every afternoon for them and complaint with no luck which led us to keep the pool towels on a daily basis.
Our bed sheets were only changed once during our stay.
Still we remained calm and with high hopes.
It was the day before our last which caused us such distress when during an absolutely awesome bio kayak trip I returned to the van to drop off my sandals to find the young lady who had arrange the trip (who had hitched a ride with us) in a very compromising position. We chose not to mention this incident to the resort but it is certainly not something I would wish for someone else to see...


Yolanda & this is the type of drivers you have? Shame on you!

We Proundly Present Dragonfly's Modern bus fleet!



yeah... i forgot they don't own any (modern bus fleet) in fact they don't own anything

OK lets do it again ! ------We proudly present Dragonfly's Modern Bus Fleet!

Since they only own one old bus (& its usually in the mechanic)This is their fleet! This is the way they operate in both the hotels that they serve, subcontracting Taxis cabs, I Would really like to know how they suckerd the hotel managers to let them run their transportation services since they don't even own buses!

P.S In their website they say....... (Dragonfly is the only company in Puerto Rico to own & operate its own tours)YEAH RIGHT!

Look how cheap they are.....they use one greeter to serve the Gran Melia & Wyndham Rio Mar

Hey can you imagine that by mistake they take you to the wrong hotel!!!!!!! well its happend already!


Like Letterman says…here are the TOP 10 REASONS WHY I HATE DRAGONFLY ADVENTURES:

(10) No employee Christmas bonuses

(9) After years of service, there are employees still waiting for the medical insurance.

(8) You could get fired for no apparent reason…right Alejandro?

(7) If you are part of a taxi stand in one of the Resorts…forget it, sell it my friend!!!

(6) The staff at the Airport has to meet & greet for both Resorts at the same time

(Imagine one passenger taken to the wrong Resort…oh GOD!!!)

(5) With the economy going downhill, they decided to raise their prices on all of their services through the roof!!!

(4) They only own one old medium size Mini bus ( and they say they own & operate a modern fleet!) THEY SUBCONTRACT THEM!.

(3) They are always saying new buses are coming, next week & the next but they never arrive!.

(2) They are not authorized by the Park service nor the Forest service to provide tours in Old City Forts & the Rain Forest.

(1) Carlos Lenni always asks for a 10% of your check (now you know why!)
